The Feds are going to be selling off all the spectrum currently used by the analog section of off-air broadcast. This will amount to billions of dollars for the gov't from the auction of this frequency range to private companies, so yeah, analog will die soon. The saving grace to all this is that converter boxes will be made that will convert the digital to analog so everybody can keep their old sets. Broadcasters don't want to spend the money to switch to digital, and have kept lobbyists busy in congress to avoid that, but it's coming. The feds are getting impatient for that money...
