Stand Up For The Industry

I seldom come here and ask anyone for help . I once wrote a story here called ONE MANS DREAM , it was about a company of all contractors . I had some 2600 emails , some co's with up to 100 employees , all willing to help . Its already been decided here that we don't want to form a Union but we do need a UNION of Contractors. Please join with me and e-mail the following individuals at these addresses. Senator John Kerry @ http://www.johnkerry.com/contract/ , Senator John McCain @ http://mccain.senate.gov/index.cfm?FuseAction=ContactHome , Senator Ted Kennedy @ http://www.senate.gov/index-high.html , Govenor Arnold Schwarzenegger @ http://www.govmail.ca.gov . I am sending each this same e-mail in hopes of some answers and some help with our industry. As we are all American citizens we deserve to be heard. Please send an e mail , here is mine. Good day gentleman, I am sending you this e-mail as I am very concerened with George Bushes handling of Hurricane Katrina and the telecommunications industry . This morning it was brought to my attention by a friend of mine contracting from Greggory Electric company , for the phone company in Gulfport Mississippi. Yesterday a Canadian based company called Expertech came into the Gulf States with some four thousand trucks claming that George Bush has awarded them a no bid contract to do the telephone repair work from the damage caused by hurricane Katrina. The American contractors were asked to pull out without notice from their jobs campgrounds , and motels where they have been since the hurricane . How can this injustice be purpatrated aginst the American workers. I am a contractor in the cable television industry and have many friends and family in the telephone and power industrys. I would like to ask you gentlman is there any federal laws to protect contractors from being ripped off for monies , lied to by companys or as in the case of the telephone contractors being booted off the job by the mother company under orders from George Bush. Our Catv industry has been going in a bad direction every since 911. What will you do as Senators and Govenor to introduce leglislation to help protect American Contractors when they are putting their lives on the line at declared federal disasters . I would also ask is there any way to waive or lessen workmans compensation prices through the use of federal funding . We have a great work force in the Cable television industry thats still in their own home state because of the up fron't cost of insurance . I would like to ask you gentlmen to please post a response to my questions on our industrys largest website cabl.com under the off topic heading . There will be thousands that await your response as the website has some 45,000 members . Thank you for your time and consideration in dealing with these matters.
Sincerely , Gerald Whitfield
