So if I have a low opinion of unions, I must have my nose up someones butt? That's an amusing statement. The original idea of a union is good. What they have turned into is perverse at the least. When an individual cannot be held accountable for quality or performance, there won't be any in most cases. I have worked around some that would keep up a steady pace, but that was not the rule. Most have been clock watchers and coffee break profesionals. I am not new to the business (18 years). I agree, there is plenty to gripe about, prices keep getting lower and lower and yes one just about has to keep an attorney on retainer 24/7 to deal with the liars and dirtbag thieves. I would still rather be a contractor and have control than join a union. If you want to work your way up on union property, be prepared to have a pretty good tan on that nose. Just my opinion
