Three guys walk into a motel, when they get to the desk they ask the man how much for a room for a night for three guys. The guy responds that the desk clerk stepped away and he is the bellboy but he thinks $30.
John pulls out $10.
Bob pulls out $10.
Tom pulls out $10.
They pay and go to the room. A little while later the desk clerk returns and the bellboy explains that he rented a room to three guys for $30. The clerk tells him that the charge was only $25.
so he gives the bellboy $5. and tells him to return the money to the guys.
the bellboy goes to the room and hands five $1 dollar bills back to Tom, Tom decides since the money was uneven and it was a nice thought that he would take $1. John would get back $1.
and Bob would get back $1.
and give the extra $2. dollars as a tip.
so Tom now only had to pay $9.
Bob only had to pay $9.
John only had to pay $9.
that makes 27... 9x 3 = 27
plus 2 dollar tip makes $29 ... where is the other dollar?
