Peerless Owner Goes To Court

Stoney Dotson, purported owner of the now defunct Peerless Communications of the Detroit, MI area, has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor swindling charge; thereby avoiding a possible felony conviction and up to 10 years in prison. He will be on probation until he pays off $49,191.00 in restitution. Official sentencing is scheduled for next month.

A well dressed Dotson showed up with a court appointed lawyer and expressed no remorse for his crimes but complained about a related civil lawsuit judgment that has resulted in bank account garnishments on accounts he cleaned out months before the garnishments ever took place. Dotson has successfully hidden all liquid and convertable assests from attachment.

Witnesses for the prosecution included 4 employees of Comcast Detroit, the victim, and Redford police sergeant James Schiller. Amy Slameka was the assistant prosecutor in charge.

Stoney is up for a probation violation hearing for yet another misdemeanor con game conviction within the next few weeks before Judge Jones.
