Checked with Scientific Atlanta (S.A.) on any of their gear?
I've had pretty good luck with the Gain Maker equipment...However watch the power supplies in the nodes...one drop of moisture and they'll fry.
Also watch how you seat in the mother boards when setting up...otherwise pretty reliable gear.
Are you a member of the National Cable TV Coop?
They have some pretty good deals from time to time however S.A. does not participate.

I've used G.I (now Motorola) for a long time...good durable gear.
Just my experiance...also checked with any used vendors such as Tulsat or D.B.Tronics?
