Re: a boycott wont do any good
I agree with guerillasplicer. People need to face the facts. In a very short time we will have reached peak production of oil on a global scale. This is occurring even as world demand (china, etc) is increasing. Our global ability to meet that demand will dwindle (it's a finite resource) The prices now are a result of a simple supply and demand situation with some relative short term fluctuation caused by fear (war, hurricanes, etc.). The price may go down again on a temp basis, but you will not see $1.50 a gal. again in the USA, ever! If you boycott one co., then another will just buy the foreign oil. There's only so much to go around. We need alt energy now (hydrogen or anything that is renewable). The sooner the better. Neither Bush nor any other individual or group has ANYTHING to do with it. Screw the Mid east, and big oil companies too! As they count their money they are laughing their A$$ off. The sooner our country isn't dependent on foreign oil the better!
