I use digital a lot and found that the most important aspect of a good camera is zoom, I have an old beater I keep in the truck for lawn damage, low power and so on but with this (a HP C200) you have to get right up on the pole to get a good pic of bonding, wire wraps, damaged coax, you can down load them but when you try blowing them up all you get is pixels, you need a good zoom, I have a Canon ZR-45MC with an 18X zoom but I tape a lot also, UG restoration mostly. Go to Walmart, you can pick up a good camera with a good zoom for $200.00, and face it, it's going to be out in the field with you there fore it's going to take a beating so by a good case.
