It is what you make of it. If you are looking for guidance---ask.
In asking, you will receive a number of responses. You will hear the up side and the down side. You will hear from those that are owed money, and from those that think that by simply showing up to a job, they deserve to be paid even though the work performed is far less than quality meritorious of even minimum wage.
The key to your quest is research. Objectiveness. You have to keep an open mind. If you dont, you are a statistic.
I have read postings on here about things whereas rumor runs rampant. Case in point, rumors about the Bay area. What a crock of s**t. I know a lot of players in that game. Its a go. Till its done.
IMHO you have to have a feel for it. If you aint got it, work for somebody that does. I know a lot of people in this business that have done very well for themselves and still maintain a nice lifestyle by deploying good business practices and keeping ahead of the game.
Take it or leave it--- it is really up to you.
