Re: All Former Gfc Employees

I may be wrong here but with all this talk about claiming storage on the GFC trucks....

If you were not given storage during your employment why would the court award you storage after the company filed chapter 7?

I understand everyone's frustration and believe me I am frustrated however in the courts eyes this could be construed as malicious intent could it not? If you are aware of the filing on chapter 7 which the court knows you are because you haven't received a paycheck or one that clears then you have most definately contacted someone in regards to that.

Sending back the letters to buy time or holding their trucks/tools, etc. would make me think the courts are going to frown on this. In the real world living paycheck to paycheck I know first hand how difficult it can be. Unfortunately the law doesn't look at things the way you or I do and in such you may be opening up a can that should have never left the store.

The best thing I can suggest besides all the great info and comments from fellow cable guys on here would be to contact an attorney and make sure you are within legal limits on your decisions. Most attorney's will give you atleast a 30 minute free consultation where you can ask your questions and get legal advice on how to proceed.

In the end I wouldn't want to see anyone else get hurt even more by doing something that would bring criminal charges to themselves, The closing of GFC is no excuse to create a background that you will carry with you for the rest of your life. Besides cable more so then other companies have to check your criminal background report and any felony or misdemenors in the case of Theft or Assault will get you thrown out the front door faster then it take's Britney Spears to get a divorce.

If I'm wrong about this I wish you all the best in collecting your monies owed, If I'm right I just don't want to see anyone get stung even more.
