Going to the SBCA and asking for representation is not going to help our cause one bit. They are mandated by who else than DirecTV and Dish. You better believe SBCA knows which side of the bread gets buttered and it aint from the tech's side. Think about it, all DTV and Dish has to do is threaten to use another group for certifications. They don't have to use the SBCA, they can form their own group and make SBCA obsolete.
The only REAL way to organize is to go to an established union and talk to them about how to get organized. I have researched the union's and have found that the CWA is the best group hands down. I would post a link to the website, but I don't think the administrator appreciates that too much.
