Try the GE Allegro series.....it's a bit more expensive but reliable and easy to install. Most devices are self-enrolling, plus the phone interface is wireless. GE has some other models (Simon) that are really nice but more expensive.
The kit is more than the equivalent DSC (not sure about Lynx) but worth it, especially when you can't get a phone wire to the keypad. You'll spend more time programming the system than installing the devices.
