Biggest thing is finding a good company and staying with them. I've been with the same company for 5 years and they havn't messed up my paycheck yet.

But for every good company, I'm sure there are 20 bad ones. I got lucky.

IMO stay with the small companies that don't have a big overhead. They tend to pay more and care more about there techs.

BTW what area of the contry are you from?
