Mastec Rate Cut
Just when you thought Mastec couldn't get any worse it has. Effective tomorrow 6/11/05, In House rates drop $3 on the install for regular techs and $4 for Lead Techs. Rates increase for service calls $3 for Techs and $4 for Lead Techs. Oh.. and dont think they have forgotten about cutting rates for Subs either......effective tomorrow Subs lose $6 per install and gain $6 for service calls. Thats the money that the owner of the Sub is losing, not what a sub installer is losing...the installer may lose more.....so in otherwords....drive your truck, pay your gas and small parts and cable and make the same or less than an in house employee. A new apprentice tech in house will make about 34 on an install. I'm just glad they can still fill up the yacht full of gas down in Miami....It would be a shame if they couldn't get that thing out on the water to contemplate and plan how to screw more money out of their techs while at the same time not pay them for the hours they work....Any responses are welcome.
