Today, Stoney Dotson, former disconnect prime cable contractor with Comcast Cable in Detroit area known as Peerless Communications, appeared before Judge Wirth of the 17th Judicial District in Michigan and waived his right to an examining trial on the advice of his court appointed attorney, Sam Jadallah. Stoney will be arraigned again on June 21st in Circuit Court for Felony Fraud, AKA, False Pretenses $20,000.00-Case # 0587662. Stoney faces a possible 10 years imprisonment and 10K fine plus full restitution. Stoney was again released on a no cash bond. Stoney looked slightly haggard and a little surprised that the case was actually bound over to a higher court.
Complaining party is a factoring company that has accused him of systematic fraud by submitting fake invoices for funding over an 8 week period before finally being caught. During the course of the 6 month police investigation, Stoney averred fantastic scenarios and bizarre motives behind his admission of presenting fake Comcast disconnect invoices to the factor company including claiming he was instructed to do so by Comcast employees in order to be paid on an unrelated debt Comcast owed him. Comcast has denied owing Stoney any money or advising him to submit fake invoices to anyone and has backed up the factor company's claims.
Stoney has also suffered a large default judgment on a related civil lawsuit. The only attorney he hired so far was in the civil case who quit because he was never paid.
