MUS issued an RFP proposal to pre-qualified contractors and received bids in December 2004. MUS has selected Atlantic Engineering Group (AEG) of Braselton, GA as the Prime Contractor responsible for the design and construction of the overall FTTP network. AEG will also be responsible for developing the specifications for outside plant materials which will be purchased locally by MUS.
AEG can be reached at 706-654-2298
MUS-Morristown Utility Systems.

PROPOSED SCHEDULE:
May 05 - Construction start
Oct. 05 - Headend Room Ready
Dec. 05 - Beta Customers
Jan. 06 - First Customers

MUS will contract with a Prime Contractor responsible for design and construction of the overall FTTP network. This work consists of all design and labor associated with construction of the Headend facility and outside plant. The basic infrastructure is expected to take 12-18 months to build and the first customers are expected 6-8 months after construction starts. City Council approved funding on February 1, 2005 allowing MUS to finalize contracts.
Bond funds were finalized March 17, 2005.

On April 25, 2005, MUS selected Alcatel USA as the vendor to provide the electronic technology to optically transport signals from the Headend facility throughout the City to customer premises. MUS also selected Scientific Atlanta as the supplier of digital and analog video delivery equipment.

NOTE* --
MUS will contract customer installations, especially in the first several years. This work consists of running a customer drop fiber cable from the street to the premise, installing a terminating box on the outside of the premise and any in-house wiring required. Existing CATV coax wiring will not be affected but customers may desire a Cat 5 cable to their computers for high speed Internet service.

April 20, 2005--Atlantic Engineering Group (AEG) and Zoomy Communications (ZoomyCo) announced a strategic relationship to provide design, engineering, construction, and installation services for municipalities and real estate developers considering the deployment of Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP) technology directly to the home, business or premise.
The two companies have exchanged company stock and, as sister-organizations, together will be an even stronger force in the fast growing FTTP market. Per their agreement, ZoomyCo will join with the AEG design team in providing design and engineering services to AEG's municipal clients. In turn, AEG will provide supplementary construction and project management services to ZoomyCo's real estate development customers.

AEG and ZoomyCo are each the market leader in their respective markets. AEG is the leading engineering and construction firm in the U.S. for municipal FTTP networks. AEG's customers include FTTP projects in the Borough of Kutztown, PA; Bristol Virginia Utilities; Bristol Tennessee Essential Services; Dalton Utilities, GA; Jackson Energy Authority, TN; Morristown, TN; Provo, UT; Quincy, FL; Sallisaw Municipal Authority, OK and many other municipal fiber projects. AEG's projects will pass over 200,000 homes and businesses this year. ZoomyCo is the nation's leading engineering firm focused on the real estate development FTTP market and has provided turnkey implementation for numerous master planned communities.

ZoomyCo provides design, engineering, construction management and on-going operations of FTTP networks for real estate developers, master planned communities and mixed-use developments. ZoomyCo provides comprehensive turnkey solutions, starting with feasibility planning and design, all the way through financing and construction of an FTTP project. Upon completion of the network ZoomyCo provides operational expertise and ongoing maintenance services for the system.
ZoomyCo was established in December 2002. Although ZoomyCo is a newly formed company, its employees are veterans in assisting state and local government agencies with the deployment of technology infrastructures
