a) what about the vast # of people that have some nextel (or whatever) talk your teeth out until your blue in the face for thier only phone. My company has installed at several of these including house boats, RV's etc. What is an HSP's consideration for this? The only xtmers I have seen trouble with this are newly-need to be acivated DVR's, which have to dial out to start the "record" function. Heck, we had one lady who ran a line to her NEIGHBORS box to start her DVR service. She did not want a land line, just good TV.
Another writer to this forum and said it was a way to monitor for Neilson ratings, I believe it is true.
b) on 2 occaisions xyz phone company has refused to work on thier service because "someone else" touched the bell box. It was wired great except we don't carry blue/blue white for our H/U wires.
My TIVO has not been plugged into a phone line for 487 days
Last I checked-yup, it still records and full use of all of its functions.
