As much as it would be nice to give Starbucks a ration of manure, this story isn't true. I was in the Navy 20 years and am now retired. Many of my friends are still serving. I was recently onboard the aircrat carrier USS Ronald Reagan taking a tour and visiting one of my old buddies that is an officer onboard. I noticed that they were serving Starbucks coffee in the Enlisted Galley. I was to say the least, shocked. After running across one of the Supply Officers onboard, I asked him how they could afford that. Seems Starbucks sells to the Navy at essentially cost. A heck of a lot less expensive than you or I would pay.
The original story in this string is urban legend. Given the way Starbucks markets itsself, it would be easy to believe.
