Digital compression

We have been discussing a digital head -end upgrade on our analog 450 gi plant,anybody doing this?What equip is needed and where can you get it? Our digital music works fine as does our digital modem forward both above 450,but were wanting to do some video compression without using hits or a partner, any ideas? What about converters? Its all new to me but seems straightforward enough,I've heard of systems doing this as an up-grade option as discussed in an earlier thread and I'd like to expound on it if anyone is doing it.Thanks,hope all dawgs have a great weekend!
