One thing you will find out if you compress a digital singal to 256 Quam, is that every bad fittiing, splitter, nicked cable in your system will have to be replaced, we are runnig 256 Quam channels and have had to rewire alot of homes because of it, it also showed every bad spot in our out side plant. I will not even go into the MDU's and all the fun they can cause. All which was runnig fine at 16 quam compression, but there more it is compressed the more BER/packet loss come into play.
