Re: retainner held for 1 year?

Did you sign a contract? Usally Subs don't get there retainage held a year,but now a days thats one way for a prime to make a little more money off ya. Maybe in a year you might get it back but 9 out of 10 times their going tp say there was a problem with your work and keep it unless you tell them you'll fix any problems that where accurred by you. Is it worth it? how much retainage is involved? I've had up to $20,000 held and have gone back for 2-3 days to cleanup problems and I've also had $6-$700 where it wasn't worth it because I would have lost more at my current position so I told them to keep it and call it even.But a year is a bit long if your not the prime.
