that cable tech is wrong, once a housebox is attached to the house, it is the homeowner's. as well as the cable belongs to the cust. if you catch a tech of any type doing more than cutting the line at the splitter, teach himm the old school way of not messing up anybody elses lines, the cable companies use each other's house boxes and lines as well as fittings as long as they meet spec's(i.e. snapnseal).
