Hit = counts all files served. Just viewing this page will create about 10 hits, 1 for the page and 9 or so for the graphic images. The posting form I'm using to create this causes about 100 hits due to all the smilie graphics, at least the first time it's accessed. The number is only meaningful for gauging server performance and not much else.
View = counts only distinct HTML pages served. Viewing this page counts as 1... but since it's the same page (as far as the server knows) as almost every other page it was already counted.
Visit = counts only individual visitors on entry. You were counted once the first time your browser accessed the site this session. This is this most meaningful but has its quirks too.
The actual numbers are affected in various ways so they're not really useful in raw form. Views, as relates to the CABL Bar anyway, are almost meaningless because the page bar.aspx delivers most of the content and is viewed repeatedly but is only counted once for each session. Mostly the numbers are good for general overview, tracking month-to-month changes and all that.
The graph above is for the first three months of this year, showing averages for each day. That's more useful than raw count but again, I wouldn't be comfortable saying "10,000+ people visit the Bar on an average day" with any certainty anyway. The session start #s that the Bar logs do somewhat corroborate the 10K figure, but how many people log on 10 times per day and what are the affects of proxies, dynamic IPs, etc.
