Problems over the weekend & some notes

Over the weekend I moved the mail and web servers over to a new machine and software and did some general housekeeping. During the course of this you may have seen various errors or other kinds of problems and I got a bunch of mail and pm's that I don't have time to respond to all. Consider this message the response. Everything should be working normally again. If anyone is still having trouble please write here or e-mail.

The new mail server -- knock on wood -- seems to be purring along. I'm starting to test e-mail aliases for accounts so if anyone would like a { (-REDACTED-) address now shoot me an e-mail and I'll set it up. It doesn't have to match your Bar id (and some Bar id's aren't allowed as e-mail -- no spaces or @ signs, for instance) but I can change your Bar id if you want it to match. This is forwarder only, meaning mail coming to the cabl.com address will be sent along to the e-mail address registered on your account and not kept on the server. You have to have been a member for at least 90 days, no newly-created accounts.

The plan is to install new software for the Bar next weekend, if everything goes right. Many of the the requests people have sent me, like avatars (a picture that is associated with your identity), spell check, pics in ads, etc. have been added. Free ads for premier members are clarified better with a new section, and some of the sections have been changed. Optional subscribe-to forums (e.g. Lineman forum) that are otherwise hidden are added. Banners will be back and the existing ads enhanced.

I'm also evaluating a webmail application that looks promising. Using this you'll be able to check the Bar and if you have new e-mail it will show just like private messages do now. The mail interface is something akin to Yahoo mail. The domains I have now are:
