I was in another situation on a job when I was delivering appliances for sears: I was installing a refrigerator in a house in a very expensive neighborhood. the homeowner kept leaving the kitchen, which was good except for the fact that his wallet, money clip and several peices of jewelry were left on the counter, as soon as I saw them I called him back in to collect his stuff so that there could be no chance of his accusing us of any thievery. I have several stories of such cases where people have accused me falsly of stuff and I was cleared every time we brought clear thinking into the picture.
