No, under federal law, the employees in the private sector soley determine whether or not they will unionize. The companies will stoop to whatever means, lying, threats, intimidation, etc, to attempt to convince the employees to stay non-union and as such continue to have no rights or say in the work place. If the company fires employees because they support the union, that is illegal and the NLRB will force the employer to hire back the affected employee with back wages and benefits (of course they have no real benefits at Mastec).
