Re: Apc vs. Upc Coupler issues

If it helps:

You will find no noticeable difference in using Ultra Polished Connectors (UPC) versus Angled Polished Connectors (APC). The APC connectors are polished at an 8 degree angle at the end face to help reduce back reflections, giving better return loss performance. Normally, a UPC connector will have a lower insertion loss than an APC, but somewhat worse return loss. The APC will have a slightly higher insertion loss, but much better return loss. It's usually just a matter of personal preference.

The problem with either type, as usual, is the care taken when installing the equipment. A gunked-up APC will work about as well as a gunked-up UPC.
