Re: What is splicing and activating

basically a pain in the rear!! when a system is upgraded and spliced to an, say, 870 system, all mdu's need to be spliced in to the new system with proper equipment and balanced to proper levels. generally this is a haul butt operation requiring co-ordination with the line splicers to keep an existing system with uninterrupted service. good thing the nodes are gettin' way smaller or you'd really have a mess on your hands. never did pay as well as it should have. doubt it's changed much!!
