It's pretty simple, really. All of the contractors keep these cable companies in business by getting the produnt out there and getting it out at a much higher volumer than a $12.00 an hour in-house guy with no ambition. We used to get paid well for our time, knowledge, and ofcourse all the jobs getting pumped out. Somewhere the cable companies figured they had us all by the balls and started to bundle job descriptions and slash prices. The big thing is, all the contracting companies stayed working for them. Well.. most did anyway. So, until they realize the quality is going downhill fast and the pruduct wont sell with it being unreliable, they'll keep on this path and show huge profit gains. That mighty dollar is forcing them to squeeze us and strong arm us. How many guys feel like replacing a midspan drop or a sub pole drop on a video recconect for the prices now? How many actually check the ground block or splitter to see if it's bonded when they show up to install a single digital box?
