well, 60 g's is hard to beat. Is that as a contractor, or as an employee.
As an employee, I'd say 60,000 is doing all right, even with the forced overtime (who's gonna let you work 80 hours) I'd probably do it. View always changes, time to yourself. Lots of good things. Here in the Northeast, a 3br house will cost around 250,000 and a 3br apt is 900 minimum. Nuts. The job market isn't too bad for construction, but have to get lucky to find something over 30 grand a year. Sad part is, if we worked those kind of hours for the phone company, we'd all be making over 130,000!
If all your 1099 says is 60 grand, you've got a better life somewhere else. I can make less than half as an employee and get by just as well. I just don't get to brag about big checks.
