I am new to this board, but I thought i should reply to this message. I have been in the cable industry since 1984. I have been in the satellite industry since 1993. Over the years i have learned to blend the two together. Being a contractor gives me more options than an employee. My wife and I run a ma and pa operation with three employees. We have been busy enough to work seven days a week if we wanted. But, that is because the satellite industry is going crazy. In most parts of the U.S. you don't need two dishes. Fortunately for us, we work in a one dish area. You need to get good contracts with good companies to make good money no matter what field you choose.
