I was praising the guy, not feeling sorry for myself. I've spent my time in a classroom.
I've made a ton of money in cable, all of it on the short end. Nice for a fast buck, but no future. Fact is, 10 years after I've started I've got a ton of friends, about two hundred classroom credits, all the hours I'd need, but no future. There's enough to know in CATV to warrant a licence.
MSO only cares about the lowest offer, making education is pretty much worthless in our trade. Primes couldn't afford to pay someone with a licence what their worth and still stay in business, so they do what they have to.
So education is great. Good for you cause now you can walk around superior to the other hacks. Good for MSO because they get someone who understands their billion dollar plant. Good for the contractor who whores you out to get rich.
But you don't make what you should.
