vic, I am the same way, I won't put my name on a substandard job...no matter what.
this is not a dig at anybody. I just finished up a job running phone and cat 5 through an office. ran almost 1000 ft throughout, 6 outlets, total, took 3 days and more than 20 hours to do it, yes that is alot of time, but you will never have to go back to fix anything.period!
as far as certifications go, when I worked for knology, the only installer that was allowed to take their modem class was someone who to this day still refuses to to any computer work.
