Re: Non-Compete Contract

Non-Compete clauses are generally not enforcable. However the primes usually do have agreements not to hire subs of the others in order to control the prices in the area. Be careful. Contrary to what most people think different primes do discuss such things. Most of the time its the MSO that makes the decision as to whom can move to a different prime or not.
I worked for a company that was under building the system with another and still had a contract with the existing system. The reason we took the work was because the existing system had not given us work for 3 months. The existing system gave me a node redesign for an area (night work), which we spliced according to the design that was given us. The prime we worked for even admmitted that it was the design that was wrong and nothing that we did.To make a long story short we were let go after 7 years of gig free work with that prime. After the underbuild was complete we never worked in that city again. We were black balled by the 4 primes that were brought in to upgrade the existing system even though we did't do anything wrong. Watch your back!!
