I agree with PG. If you are sure it was just misplaced, retrace your steps. I found a missing meter once that I had left in a customers basement by doing just that.
If you think it might be stolen or someone picked it up, you could check Ebay, or place an ad in your local paper. Paying a $100.00 reward for it's recovery would be better than that payroll deduction for the next several months.
