Re: directv installers

There are a lot of variations to consider to give an average, I worked for companies that supplied a truck, gas card, cell phone and furnished all materials if you are furnishing all these you would stand to make more but would have a lot of out of pocket expenses to pay for. I worked for $45.00 a single and 12.50 per a/o and gross an average of $38,000-$45,000 for six days a week. You also have to consider giving up your life for your job and not mind being out 8-14 hrs a day and missing all or most of your kids school events or even miss seeing them before they go to bed. also what area and who you work for,as in can they give you enough consistant work to keep you busy and then the most important is will they pay you for your work? There are more shady characters than honest in this business and that's the hard truth. I installed for over 20 years in the sat and cable industry and called it quits last week opting to get my life back and start seeing and spending time with my children before it's too late, I might not make $40,000 but then again I'm sittin at home this saturday watching the snow storm rolling in and listening to my kids laughing in the next room as they play their x-box games, and I made them breakfast on a saturday morning for the first time in years. I guess what i'm trying to say is that you can make decent money still if ya work hard and find an honest employer but believe me to make it you will have no other life. Good luck to ya
