tell me again why the prices are so low these days! Did this guy actually suggest that I use a SDA-5000 to check light at the node? Oh and at a low cost?! Please let me know how do I do that?!

I am just looking for a low cost unit. I know most go for $500 + and I do not plan to spend that much. I do not need anything fancy, I just want to verify light levels at my optical receivers for situations where I have no ac source or a bad receiver.
