I believe that Rupert changed the ownership from Hughes to what is now named 'The DirecTv Group.' DirecTv was formally owned by Hughes (general motors division-Hughes built the technology and launched the bird in 93.) Rupert Murdock of Fox Broadcasting is the main head cheese of that board. Mastec Advanced Technologies-which handles the DirecTv HSP is a small branch of Mastec Inc. that does all sorts of cabling and other telecommunications on a much grander scale. This is the way I understand the structure anyways. For what it is worth.
