Here we disconnect the sub from the telco on the subs part of the wiring to the telco box and the run a jumper to the nearest jack from the back of the modem and that activates the entire house/apt.
Most of the time the subs coming from dial-up hell and the PC is conveniently close to a jack. But I still carry a roll of silver satin, rj11 plugs, roll of cat3, and jacks with me.
