As an inhouse employee of Mastec for about three years I have had my ups and downs with them. I can say my pay check was always there. I worked as both a production employee and a salaried employee. Don't know where the guy got his info that they are partly Canadian owned but I have never heard of any Canadian involvement. Mastec was started by Jorge Mas. Yes some contractors that I know personally have had problems getting there retainage. The broadband division is floundering a little but Mastec is very diversified working for DOT, power companies and others. For the most part they have been pretty fair.
