Out here in California I checked into a position in house, and they only wanted to pay $15/hr for an experienced lineman. The cable end of this company is relatively new, and they've got some real jerks in upper-level management. Heavily corporate structured, (Stanley Tools is one parent) and paperwork happy, they seem to've filled key roles with guys that have no experience in CATV whatsoever! Busily climbing the corporate ladder, the G.M. out here showed little respect for the workingman; those of us climbing REAL ladders and poles and towers. Such arrogance can only be attributed to their lack of field experience--I would've loved to get that guy out for a day as my grunt, canyoneering or
