what i've done in the past with pretty good results is use a analyzer with a video out , pick an un-used channel in your system , send out the analyzer picture on that channel . use a test set tuned to your new analyzer pic. if trouble shooting a fiber/coax system , start at the first bridger /trunk off each leg of the node and pull the reverse pad and check your analyzer pic. if the cpd goes away , you knowyou're on the offending (?) leg , and can , depending on what type of amp you have, narrow down which feeder leg it is by killing power (briefly) or pulling individual reverse pads. after that it's all divide and conquer .
