I Give Thanks

A few days late, but I give thanks for all the time I've had to spend with my military children the last month - my daughter is now back on Gitmo and my son leaves for Iraq next weekend for his tour....and of course, being the selfish mother that I am, I keep praying that the deployment gets cancelled for my son and that my daughter leaves Gitmo sooner rather than later! My brain realizes that things have to be this way, but unfortunately has not communicated it accurately to my heart....or I should say my heart refuses to accept it...I thank God wholeheartedly every single day, as I have since their births, for these wonderful young people who have blessed my life and enriched those of my family, friends and anyone who has met them...and I applaud their courage as they do their duty - and pray for courage for myself over the next several months to go from day to day hoping that they, and all our other military personnel, come home safely. God Bless America.....and to all of you other parents with young soliders abroad or even stateside, - God Bless and stay strong, and be thankful for those who allow us to be "the land of the free because of the brave" as someone posted several weeks ago....And as an aside - let's send Vanessa Redgrave and her flunkies over their to handle the human rights issues they want to invoke - put them in proximity with those "humans" and let's see what happens! I would gladly let them take the place of my own kids over there if I was not able to do it myself. (angel)(usa)(halo)
