Re: For you enjoyment

Hey Jerry,

Thanks for the well wishes - the same to you and yours.

Whoops, you are right, it was the condenser... good catch(clap) I was taught that the condenser acts like a cap and stores the energy while not in use and is there to discharge it when needed... I even had a problem calling it the capacitor in high school... that and writing my n's like m's. Looks like I still have both problems to this day(nod)(biggrin)(nod)

Dwell is the rate in degrees that the points are open. You can set it with the feeler guages, i.e. matchbook in a pinch(biggrin), or use the dwell meter.

I think, if I remember right, the meter is actually picking up how long the points are open and comparing it to the RPM and giving you the dwell (this is why you have to select the # of clyinders for it to be correct)

I could be wrong on how the meter works exactly - but I know I am right on what the dwell is.

All I have to say is - thank God for HEI and MSD(wacky)

Happy Turkey day everyone...

Vic
you need to have enough wisdom to keep from making the wrong decisions but enough courage to make the right ones
