What Noise says about the DC voltage would be my best guess too.
One side of the switch will probably work with a slightly lower voltage that comes from the receiver side with the lower voltage. I had one just about a week ago that did me the same way on a 322 that I did for a friend. It was installed with the Type 2 Superdish and 34 switch. Never really had it while doing a 522 though but have found a couple of 34 switches bad out of the box. I have had some problems getting enough signal on the 522's. I have also found a couple of bad switches in the LNB's on Dish 500's on some trouble calls.
I have only been doing this work for a little less than 3 months but feel like I'm pretty decent at it and learn something new all the time. Before I did aircraft electronics for about 25 years.
