I would like to add one thing to your QC ride out, the first thing you do is get with the system super who is going to be riding out your plant, you get him drunk, and then laid and take a bunch of pictures,,, no just kidding, you do have to get out in the field with him when the job first starts, you need you or who ever is going to be QCing the plant to see what HE wants it to look like, spend a day or two with the guy and make sure your on the right page, document every spec he is calling for and then type this up and have him sign it off and then have a meeting with the crews and the splicers and give them all a copy of the specs sheet go over every detail and have them sign off as under standing the specs for this project, oh and have them keep this spec sheet on them at all times so if they are approached by any systems person stating that they are doing something out of spec all they have to do is show them the spec sheet signed off by that job super and the issue is covered, (your ass that is.)
it's easyer to ask for forgiveness than permission
