You have to do your home work, there's no secret to running a job smoothly, you have to do your home work, get in there a couple weeks before this thing goes off, get your maps, the latest and the greatest, (and a full set of as-builds) and then head out and put some time into your ride out, make sure all the cable is placed, the PS's are bugged off, the make ready has been taken care of and pay close antention to your ug, kick every ped open, the ug will kill you if you don't take it into account. I have a full pre-job check list that I will E you, give me an address through PM, I'll tell you another little trick, get all your maps on the wall, and then bring in all the local techs that run that system, give each one of them a pen and a stack of post it notes and let these guys go over the maps, it will surprise you how many changes have been made to the system that never get documented, believe me I know.
it's easyer to ask for forgiveness than permission
