Ron Webb is a stand up guy. When it was Protel - he was the construction mgr - didn't have much interaction with him at that time... then we did another 300 mile stint in West Tucson that went towards Ajo, after MasTec bought Protel and Ron was the PM for that gig. Ron knew to let the guys that knew what they were doing handle things themselves and that made for a good work environment. No "micro management" BS.
I remember towards the end of the project they were placing some easement cable in a trailer park (big surprise for Tucson
) and the contractors were having trouble... Ron grabed his hooks and was muttering something about "bucket pussies" and showed them how a line dawg did it through the trees.
Last I heard he went to the Keys a few years ago... still with MasTec
