Re: Lineman!! Splicers!!!!! Input On.....

There are 100's of good idea's but all the answers fall on the people in the field to do an accurate usage. How many times have you ran out of a fitting or a tap or pads and what not?? Well nobody that I know of actually accounts or remembers these daily occurances. At the end of the job it adds up to a lot of usage. One of the best ran jobs I have worked on had a closed warehouse and the supervisor's drove out the run with the as-built ( if your lucky to have one) divided up all the runs and submitted parts requests to the warehouse. When the splicer came in the next morning the parts were waiting. The warehouse was available for requested parts from the splicer ie: straps, spacers, F connectors. The key is at the end of the day every night you could not turn in the production without marking it up (as-built) and wall print, with the supervisor and turning in the all important usage sheet. As you see this is only as good as the splicer. Try to get all of them to take notes and keep good record.
