I don't recommend using an alarm monitoring system with VOIP, most devices including fax machine other than pure voice are not compatiable with current VOIP vocoder compression schemes. There are ways to configure VOIP adaptors to work with certain devices however most adaptors are controlled by the provider, so it's really a hit or miss if the unit works.
